Garde à Domicile – Liège

FUNCTION

La garde à domicile a pour mission de contribuer, par une présence de longue durée, de jour comme de nuit, au bien-être, au confort physique et moral, à l’hygiène de vie et à la sécurité de toute personne, qui pour des raisons de santé ou de handicap, nécessite une présence continue. Son rôle est de permettre le maintien à domicile des personnes en préservant et en stimulant leur autonomie, et en veillant à leur qualité de vie. La ·le garde à domicile agit dans l’intérêt du bénéficiaire et dans le respect de son libre choix. La garde à domicile peut travailler en complémentarité avec l’aidant proche (la famille ou l’entourage) et permet, par son action, de le seconder et de lui offrir du répit. En Région Wallonne, le travail du garde à domicile est défini par un statut.

Required qualification :

IN THE WALLOON REGION : Be in possession of a certificate of registration as a family helper issued by the Ministry of the Walloon Region, together with a certificate certifying that training has been completed in one of the following areas:

• Enseignement secondaire de plein exercice : certificat d’auxiliaire familiale et sanitaire, certificat d’aide familial·e, certificat d’aide-soignant·e, certificat de puériculteur·trice, certificat d’aspirant·e en nursing
• Enseignement de promotion sociale : certificat d’auxiliaire polyvalent·e des services à domicile et en collectivité, certificat d’aide familial·e, certificat d’aide-soignant·e
• Work-study education and training centre: same qualifications as for full-time education
• Centre de formation reconnu par la Région Wallonne : attestation de capacité d’aide familial·e
• AFPK training

As part of the respite projects supported by AWIPH, staff must have qualifications corresponding to one of the educational, social, paramedical or medical functions recognised by the CP 318 to which the service belongs. IN THE GERMAN-SPEAKING COMMUNITY

• AFPK (Ausbildung Familien & Seniorenhelfer/in und Pflegehelfer/in
• Full secondary education: 6^th Familienhilfe« year»
• Full secondary education: 7^th Pflegehilfe« year»
• Bachelor of Nursing (successful completion of first year)

SKILLS REQUIRED

• Demonstrate expertise in helping people with everyday tasks
• Demonstrate an ability to occupy and animate the person
• Demonstrate the ability to work in an organised department and as part of a team
• Know how to work in an interdisciplinary manner, referring to other professionals for all tasks that go beyond his/her competence
• Knowing how to adapt your work to situations in the home
• Know how to work autonomously in the home while respecting service guidelines, decisions taken by the team and beneficiaries in the context of their daily lives.
• Demonstrate the ability to observe, reflect, analyse and pass on information about situations encountered.
• Developing a sense of human contact, listening skills and the ability to build relationships
• Be able to react in the event of an exceptional situation
• Être rigoureux·se dans le suivi des consignes administratives
• Respect the rules of professional ethics, discretion, professional secrecy and shared secrecy

LINE MANAGER La garde à domicile dépend hiérarchiquement de l’assistant·e social·e qui l’encadre et de la direction ASD.

MISSIONS

PRESTATION CHEZ LE·LA BÉNÉFICIAIRE – Assurer une présence active auprès du bénéficiaire, selon les consignes établies par l’assistant·e social·e

• ensure physical and moral safety and comfort
• offer appropriate activities
• providing relational support: listening, identifying difficulties, support through presence, dialogue, etc.
• aider à l’accomplissement des activités liées aux soins de base d’hygiène et de santé : veiller à la prise correcte des médicaments, aider le·la bénéficiaire à assurer son hygiène corporelle, … Ces actes sont réalisés dans le cadre de l’aide à la vie journalière et il est interdit de dispenser un soin technique relevant de l’art infirmier.
• prepare and give meals to beneficiaries in connection with the service
• help with travelling outside the home

– Encourager le·la bénéficiaire au développement, au maintien ou à la restauration de son autonomie – Accompagner le·la bénéficiaire et son entourage dans le cadre des soins palliatifs – Intégrer son action dans un cadre préventif – Apporter un soutien et/ou un répit aux aidant·es proches

WORKING AS PART OF A TEAM OF HOME CARERS

• Working as part of a team under the supervision of a social worker
• Collaborer et relayer toute information pertinente au sein de l’équipe de gardes à domicile et à l’assistant·e social·e, dans un souci de garantir la continuité de l’aide

INTERDISCIPLINARY WORK

• Maintain ongoing collaboration with all ASD departments and internal stakeholders in order to ensure continuity and quality of support.
• S’insérer dans un travail interdisciplinaire d’aide et de soins à domicile et en relais aux autres intervenant·e·s (internes ou externes à l’ASD) pour tous les actes qui dépassent sa compétence.
• Pass on any useful information to the social worker.
• Get involved and participate in the partnership initiatives developed by the ASD.

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL MISSIONS

• Promote and guarantee the functioning and values of ASD.
• To ensure that its professional activities are in line with its quality charter.
• Integrate one's actions in accordance with the rules of professional ethics, duty of discretion, professional secrecy and shared secrecy.
• Comply with safety standards and apply basic rules to avoid any risk to your health (accidents and illness).
• Complete the various administrative documents and strictly adhere to the relevant instructions and deadlines.
• Participer activement aux réunions (réunion d’équipe, réunion de coordination) et respecter les décisions prises et/ou des actions à entreprendre.
• Participer activement aux formations (en évaluant ses besoins et en concertation avec l’assistant·e social·e) et veiller à la mise en pratique des compétences acquises.
